President: Diana Melham

MBL, GAICD, AGIA

Diana has spent 25+ years as a senior executive and company director in the not-for-profit sector. An experienced CEO, she has led both not-for-profit and commercial organisations involved in agriculture and sport.  Diana currently provides company secretary and governance services to several community sector organisations through her consultancy, NFP Assist, and in addition to serving as President of MND Queensland, her other voluntary roles include director/secretary of a disability charity and company secretary for an Aboriginal family legal service.

Diana is an experienced director having served on association, private company, and government advisory boards/committees. Combined executive and director experience give Diana a unique insight enabling analysis from a dual perspective. This experience together with her studies have equipped Diana with the expertise and confidence to be an effective governance practitioner. Her ability to quickly understand and navigate the varying, and often complex, legislative and regulatory environments that govern different organisations is valuable in board oversight.

Diana has a Master of Business Law and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Laws. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate of the Governance Institute of Australia.


Vice President: Keith Malpress

Grad Dip Strategic Studies, BE (Electrical) (Hons 1)

Keith lives with Motor Neurone Disease and brings lived experience to the Management Committee. Along with this he also brings skills from his 31 years with the Royal Australian Navy where he spent time as a Systems Engineer, Logistics Manager and General Manager. After leaving the Navy, Keith continued working in management and logistics in the defence industry. Along with skills in management and logistics, Keith also has experience in relationships, implementing and negotiating contracts, managing large budgets, change management and leadership.

Treasurer: Katie Choi

BEc, LLB, LLM, GradDipAppFin, GAICD, FGIA, FCG (CS, CGP)

Katie is a legal practitioner and also an experienced board director, with more than 25 years’ experience in legal and finance industry across both public and private sectors, providing strategic legal advice to senior management and business teams on corporate matters, negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and finance transactions which span across many sectors and jurisdictions, with strong expertise in M&A, JV, equity and fund investment, corporate and project finance.

As a Chartered Governance Professional, Katie also has extensive experience advising organisations on corporate governance, risk management, systems and structures, legal framework and regulatory compliance. Katie holds a Master of Laws from the University of London, Bachelor of Laws and Economics from the University of Sydney and Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institutes of Australia (FINSIA). She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia

Director: Paul King Koi

BBus (Marketing), Assoc Dip Elec Eng.

Paul lives with a rare type of MND and has also lost a close friend to MND/ALS so brings lived experience to the Management Committee. His professional career began in Electrical Engineering before moving to IT & T and he has worked for companies such as Telstra, Hewlett Packard, Motorola and Zebra Technologies. In addition to his technical and IT experience, Paul also has skills in relationship management, business development and contract negotiations. He is an experienced committee member having served on the management committees of multiple clubs and associations.

Director: Chris Poole

BPsych, CHIA

Chris brings over a decade of experience as a senior leader and digital health specialist within the healthcare sector, spanning hospitals, community health, and digital health. Throughout his career, Chris has developed a reputation for understanding the key issues facing healthcare organisations and supporting the turn around and scale of healthcare providers and solutions.

Chris has held roles and supported organisations ranging from innovative start-ups to international healthcare providers, where he has led the successful implementation of digital tools to enhance patient engagement and clinical outcomes. His expertise includes digital transformation, clinical workflow optimisation, and leveraging emerging technologies to address complex healthcare challenges.

He holds a Bachelors of Psychology and Justice and is a Certified Health Informatician (CHIA) and is committed to shaping a brighter, more connected future for healthcare through critical thinking, collaboration, and continuous innovation.

Director: Mark Kennerley

BCA, CA, FCPA, GAICD 

Mark is a highly experienced finance, commercial and governance executive with over 40 years in senior leadership roles across global markets in the dairy, retail and brewing industries. The last 27 years of his professional career were with Fonterra Co-operative Group where he held senior finance roles including Commercial Director APAC, Chief Internal Auditor, and has served on multiple joint venture boards across Asia. With deep expertise in commercial strategy, risk management, joint ventures and operational performance, he has led teams and driven growth in complex, cross cultural environments.

Mark has a reputation for being the calm centre during a crisis and pursuing problem solving in a logical manner. He is valued for his ability to build and retain stakeholder engagement during times of volatility, uncertainty and change.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University in New Zealand, is a Fellow CPA, a CA and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
